Clinical Medical Assisting (CMA)

Eden Area ROP’s lab-based Medical Assisting program prepares students to sit for the clinical portion of the California Clinical Medical Assisting exam and find work as a medical assistant.
Throughout our program, students study:
- Human anatomy/physiology
- Medical terminology
- Pharmacology
- Minor surgery methods
- Medical records
- Clinical skills (collecting and recording vital signs, preparing and giving injections and capillary puncture, EKGs, etc.)
- Medical asepsis and infection control
- Career prep and nutrition
Upon successful completion of our medical assisting program, students will also be certified CPR, AED, and First Aid responders.
Eligibility Requirements
Our Clinical Medical Assisting Program is open to adults over the age of 18 who have demonstrated a proficiency in the English language and proof of up-to-date TB and other immunizations. All students must register through our website and make a payment (online or in-person) or make an arrangement for a third party payment.
